Sidetracks; Human Expression Sketching!

Hey guys! My homework for this weekend was to try and figure out how to draw human expressions so here are my attempts at it! I find the human face most difficult to draw when you don't even have any training in the first place!!! Kudos to those artists who can do such a good job!! I don't rock as much as them since I am new to the realistic way of drawing people (previously it was all so manga-ish). Well here are the attempts and the process... DONT LAUGH PLEASE! =S

Attempt #4! Well I kinda stopped here because I was getting tired, but I'll keep doing my best to continuously improve the shading and stuff!

Sidetracks; Drawings!

Drawing time again! Experimented with charcoal, pencil and color pencil! Well here they are! I am going to categorize them today, hehehe, because I drew them on seperate occasions.

My color pencil was quite weak in this area when brighter colors were involved... I think I needed nicer tones but what else could I do with a limited 24-piece set? =(

Heh heh heh, pretty morbid stuff huh!

Oh well, I wasn't emo-ing or anything though DON'T WORRY! I was just astonished to stumble upon some very dark drawings and decided I'd try to do the same, well I guess I lead much too happy a life to really feel good about drawing these things! Well, that's all for now!

Muahahahaha! It's drawing time again! This weekend was really boring! Didn't get to go anywhere particularly fun, I sure can't wait for Chinese New Year next week! Oh well, here they are!

Sidetracks; Clarke Quay! 15 mins walk from Home!

Hehehe, it's just as the title says! It's only a fifteen minutes walk from my place! It's a really nice place to go to if you're looking for a breeze and a place to chill! Muahahaha! I'd love to invite my friends over to this place just to hang out! It was sure fun!

Movies; Europa

Europa's the sixth moon of Jupiter. I decided that I wanted to combine various ideas into one with this video. It all started with the music, as I was listening to this epic war soundtrack I thought, why not? And so I drew some armies for fun, added in some monsters and I was done! The music's really what made me do this vid, heh, really like it too!

Sidetracks; RESOLUTION GO 2010! (+ some drawings)

2010 IS HERE! Boy, plenty of things to do! Gotta set the record straight and do well this year! I must achieve my aims and make sure I don't let anyone except myself down! Resolution? TO DO WELL IN EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now that that's taken care of, hehehe did some drawings today for the fun of it, just trying animation styles from other countries, not very good, and perhaps I shouldn't classify this sort of drawings as other countries' styles yet. Oh well, still got a long way to go! All the way this year WOOOO!!

Sidetracks; Stuffed with Sakae (again), and Sentosa!

It's the new year everybody! Happy new year! I managed to get home on time before the countdown, and I am so glad I DID! My whole family was around, so we enjoyed the event together, and it was lovely! Well, on with the post!

Sakae: Heh, we've been at this before, and here we are again! Once again, we head to Sakae for a crazy buffet, stuffing ourselves up with rice and raw food. Before we headed there before though, we had a game of pool, and it was quite fun. The group for this outing consisted of Jun Jie, Jian Lei, Jia Hui, Vanessa and her boyfriend and myself, heh. While at the restaurant, we decided to mix up something crazy with the sauces provided to us, with the plan to actually make it a forfeit. In the end however, Jun Jie and Jia Hui decided to take a spoonful of our concoction and we've got a video to prove it! So here it is!





Sentosa:

Well, Jian Lei eventually convinced both me and Jia Hui to head down to Sentosa the next day. Not to mention it was the day of the countdown, though I didn't stick with the rest of them for that. I wanted to celebrate it with my family this year! :D


Well! We went to Sentosa and had plenty of fun there, took a few pictures and I think that was about it! Well, here are the pictures we took!

Teacher Xiaohong! We went shopping at Vivo later to find clothes suitable for her, which weren't too shabby looking, it was quite amusing!

Goofy time!

For those of you who've been to Vivo, if you came across the National Geographic shop, you'll know what this is too! This is the freezing chamber where you can pay a fee of $1 and get to take a picture of yourself in it too! Don't underestimate how this machine works! It looks like I am enjoying myself, BUT I WAS FREEZING LIKE CRAZY! The fan behind me blew cold wind like its life depended on it, and you can see from the sensors behind that my body was trying to produce heat, fast. :S A whole bunch of people came to see me inside the chamber, and since you can see me inside from the outside, it was quite embarassing LOL!

But it was a fun experience! I enjoyed it a lot, especially since it felt like I was actually at some place really cold. Heh, try it if you are at Vivo and you've got a dollar in your pocket you aren't afraid of spending! LOL

Sidetracks; XMAS EVE + XMAS OUTING 2009! (300MB OF PHOTOS VAD?!!?)

First it was XMAS EVE! This is an add-on by the way, I just got the photos! So it was the eve of xmas and i went with Liping, Linsay, Jian Lei, Jia Hui to Liping's church to watch their performance. It was really funny! Especially how techno managed to find its way to history =S *I have a feeling*


After the performance, since we met up with zhongping earlier, we met up with huanmin too and we headed to Jurong Point for dinner! We ate at subway, and initially we wanted to go play pool as well, but since most of us couldn't make it. Jian Lei, Jia Hui and myself went with Liping to Suntec for a while with the promise that we will get to play some pool, BUT NO!! LOL, don't worry Liping, no harm done! Jian Lei and I tried searching for clothes for Jia Hui, since the next day was our own outing, and oh well, looks like Jia Hui was all set already, so we just window shopped for fun, heh. It was a fun day! Here are the photos!

It's XMAS! And as usual, Orchard Road is lit up with beautiful Christmas lighting once more. The decorations are beautiful this year, as I particularly found the lamps hanging on the trees to be most fascinating! Well, the day started off with myself meeting with the guys as PS (sad to say, we didn't have the girls and the other guys with us this time D: NEXT YEAR!!!), then we made our way down to Parkland Mall where we played a bit of pool to wait for evening to arrive, 'cause that's when the decorations will be much nicer to take pictures with.


So we took many many pictures, of which I had to take away some since they were probably taken very badly by yours truly. Oh well, here are the pictures! I think it will be much better to type along with them, hehe.

Unable to control my own hunger any further, I headed home first! The guys stayed on though till about two plus in the morning! They missed the last bus home, although they did manage to take NR3 home in the end, which was really fortunate heh!
