Sidetracks; Chinatown and Racial Harmony Day! (Part 2)

Alright! Now to talk about the main event! Racial Harmony Day was yesterday and so all of us donned our costumes and had loads of fun taking pictures! The night before I wasn't really able to fall asleep, as I was quite excited about seeing all my friends in their traditional costumes. We have never done this sort of thing before, that is, to wear our traditional costumes so faithfully, and yet we are doing it this year, and that in itself is pretty special.

So, because I was too excited to sleep, and ended up sleeping rather late, I woke up late as a result as well, and it wasn't till Fatin called me that I managed to wake up, heh. Since I was the chairperson, I really needed to open the classroom door so that they could get changed and leave their things inside the class. So I got changed hurriedly and went to school. Turns out, most of my classmates weren't really at school yet because the LRT train broke down, (yes! hurray for me muahahaha!) and so I wasn't really late in opening up the class door. Soon, all of us were ready and we headed to the Indoor Sports Hall for morning assembly. We saw alot of people wearing the ethnic costumes and we got worried that we might not get first after all. Finally, after a check, our class was the only class that had all its students in traditional costumes, woohoo! Hopefully we'd get the prize because of this, but the votes still need to count before the decision can be made, and there were classes competing since they had passed the criteria of 90%.

After assembly, those with their costumes were told to stay back and take pictures, and so my entire class remained behind with alot of other students and we took many pictures. It was really fun and the chinese guys including myself really got into it, and whichever picture we took, we couldn't help but to pose with the chinese kung-fu sort of pose, heh! I really got into the mood too with the posing, muahaha! But sian ah, somehow the pictures I took, some of them made my head look really big, but I realized that my face becomes chubby in the morning and then slims down by the afternoon, it's really weird and I can't explain why it's like that, freaky! Anyway! We began taking pictures even after the photo-taking session was over and lessons resumed. Our first period teachers really had difficulty trying to make us get focused in our work.

I had difficulty concentrating not because I didn't want to, but because the chinese sleeves were really getting in the way, and I hadn't brought any school uniform to change back into, so throughout the day I had to keep pulling back the sleeves just so that it didn't obstruct me. But throughout it all, it was a really fun experience, and all of my friends looked fantastic in their traditional costumes. Now it's just trying to get my hands on all the pictures, which up till now, graaaaaaaaaaaaa, are still missing! >:(
